Mr. Mathews attended the University of California at Berkeley and California Polytechnic at Humboldt before attending law school at Northwestern California University School of Law.
Earlier in his career, he interned at the ACLU of Southern California, where he worked on conditions of confinement in the Orange County jails.
Prior to starting his own practice, Mr. Mathews served as a Staff Attorney at the Public Law Center, representing clients in civil legal matters. He also volunteered with Community Legal Aid SoCal, assisting self-represented litigants with unlawful detainer filings and domestic violence cases, as well as with the Public Law Center in an on-site volunteer capacity.
